Using powershell to protect emails using IRM

Team,

We have a requirement to send emails to customers (customer data is stored in SQL Server) and these emails should be protected using IRM feature in Exchange.

Is this possible via powershell ? If so can you please redirect me to some sample code or links.

Protection Rules can be setup for applying IRM to messages by default on an enterprise level if required. These are internal of course.

Are your customers internal or external?
