Hotel Block

Hope everyone is doing well.

I see the hotel block rate offered here http://bit.ly/Courtyard2019Summit doesn’t allow you to select Friday as your check-out date. Is that intentional? The check-out time for Thursday is 12PM but Summit doesn’t end until 5pm.

That’s how the hotels work. When the final brochure is ready, there’ll be a group code you can use to contact the hotel directly with add-on dates.

A lot of people do leave Thursday before it’s all over.

I am also planning to check out on Friday, May 2nd, considering that the conference runs through all of Thursday afternoon. I called one of the hotels (the ‘Downtown’ I think) about 3 days ago, and they quoted me a rate of $289 for Friday. They recognized the SUMMIT rate of $219 but emphasized that it was good only for the 4 days/nights April 28 to May 1st. Hope you folks (who are doing an excellent job) can negotiate to include May 2nd.

By the way, which one is closer to the Summit? Like most attendees of such events, I’d like to be as close as possible to the venue.

Much thanks.

The brochure has the official hotels listed in it. (found here).

Seattle Marriott Bellevue: Official hang-out, location of Sunday pre-reg: Book at http://bit.ly/2019MarriottSummit, or call 425-214-7600. Our group code is PWRPWRA.

Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Bellevue: Book at http://bit.ly/Courtyard2019Summit, or call 425-454-5888. Reference the DevOps Collective event.

The URL’s will only let you reserve the dates of the conference. Book those days online and save your conformation number, then call the hotel and have them extend it. Or call them directly and make sure to use our group code.

Thanks for the clarification and links, James! Makes our lives much easier.

Ramon, Re: proximity to Summit, Meydenbauer Center is slightly closer to Courtyard by Marriott, but hey’re both pretty close. I’m assuming most of the action outside of the Summit venue will be at the Seattle Marriott Bellevue, as it’s referenced as the “Official Hang-Out”. Hence, I’m leaning towards that option.

Hope to see y’all there! My first Summit; super excited!
