Display the Audio Sound-Level Window

I’m writing a PS script that will toggle the sound level between 20% and 100%.

I would like to add a line that opens the “Display Audio Sound-Level Window” shown in the image below after the script runs so I can see which sound level I got at the end.


But I cannot find a command line or PS utility that opens the Sound-Level Window.

Someone suggested I use the sndvol.exe utility, but it:

  1. Displays the sound index using small digits that my aging eyes would have to hunt for; and
  2. I’d have to manually close the window.

By contrast, the “Display Audio Sound-Level Window”:

  1. Displays the sound level using large digits that are easily readable, and
  2. Will close automatically when I hit any key or use my mouse in another window:

Does anyone know if there’s a PS way to open the “Display Audio Sound-Level Window”?

it could be easily modified to do a “GET” basically the “[audio]::Volume” by itself will contain the current value. The problem is it is in decimals. In other words 50 % volume is 0.5 for some reason. So 100 % volume would be 1.0. Good luck have fun with it!

Thank you. I appreciate the substantial effort you made to help me. Alas, I’m much too much of a PS novice to understand the code, or even how to use the script. I’ve used param to send string arguments to a script, but I don’t understand:

  1. The two bracketed parentheticals, ‘[Parameter(Position=0)][ValidateRange(0, 100)]’, and/or
  2. What I should use to send an argument to the parameter, ‘[double]$Percent’,
  3. What I should use to send an argument to the parameter, ‘[Switch]$Mute’

Could I impose on you to give me some guidance about how to use the script?
