Print to LPT1: from PowerShell?

I’d like to be able to print to a real LPT port (not an emulated share) from PowerShell. I can share and print to a network printer with no problem with NET USE but my goal is to print locally to a dot-matrix printer on a real LPT port.
Is there any way to do this?

Just to have it at least mentioned once … did you try to simply use the cmdlet
