PowerShell for Beginners

Are there any books which are best for absolute beginners in PowerShell. Just wnat a book which will not scare anyone wanting to learn and develop their powershell ability.

Hi Kudz,

This has got to be one of the most popular questions we see here on PowerShell.org so you’ll get a fair few details answers. If you wanted to get started at your own pace with PowerShell I can recommend taking a look into ‘Learn Windows PowerShell in a month of lunches’ by non other than Don Jones himself.

After that I would move onto the MVA (Microsoft Virtual Academy) courses with Jeffrey Snover and Jason Helmick.

https://mva.microsoft.com/en-us/training-courses/getting-started-with-powershell-3-0-jump-start-8276.

The combination of humor and a focus on the basics aimed at new comers will allow you to get to know PowerShell and will have you automating basic tasks in no time.

I’ll second Flynn’s recommendation ;).
