I am sorry if I am asking a silly question but I would like to know what port does Dsc run off? Is it the standard wsman ports using ps remoting?

It uses CIM sessions, which are on the WSMAN ports by default. (5985 / 5986)
I suppose it might be possible to use a DCOM CIM session as well, but I’ve never tried it, and I don’t know why you’d want to.
@DaveWyatt, Thanks for the reply. I want it to be on WSMAn as port 5985/5986 as that is what is open on the firewall at our workplace. 
That means I can use DSC to those nodes. Thanks Dave
