Machine Specs for Running Multi-threaded PowerShell Scripts

My server’s CPU is typically at 100% when running multi-threaded powershell scripts (even just 8 performing simple functions at one time). What specs would you recommend for a new server? 2 CPUs vs. 1 CPU with 4 cores, etc. Was thinking the following, but not sure if that is enough.

  • Server 2012 R2
  • CPU with 4 cores
  • 8GB RAM

Are there other specs I should be looking at?

Jeff,
you’re asking for opinions … that’s gonna be a mess!

I’d say it depends pretty much on what you expect and what the server should do. With the information you gave there’s barely a chance to give a reasonable recommendation for some server specs.
What do you use right now? Is it a problem when the server runs with 100%? That’s actually the best value you can get - 100%.
