DSC event log missing verbose entries

DSC

This always seems to happen after a a while. the DSC log suddenly stops recording verbose information. usually over night when no changes are being pushed.
Below is an example of what happened last night. At first it logged lots of info, then less and less.

Okay, that looks right. Have you checked the event logs directly? Not sure yet if this problem is because the data is missing from the log, or if Trace-xDscOperation has some sort of bug.

The Analytic logs stop at 8:08 yesterday. matching what I posted above.

checking the properties it looks like the log is full and not set to overwrite. but there is no way to clear or change it’s size via the GUI.

Basically the log was full. and it cant be cleared when it’s turned on. so overwrite does not work. I disabled the log, cleared it. increased the size and turned it back on.

Seems like an odd design, but I’m sure Microsoft has it’s reasons.
