I am a former computer professional, now retired. I’ve been a programmer, instructor, data analyst, and database repairman.
My first hands-on experience with a computer was with the DEC PDP-1 in 1963.
About ten years ago, I began learning powershell, mostly as a way of keeping my mind active. I’ve built simple scripts that help me with tedious tasks on my home computer.
One of the learning exercises that I set for myself was a tool that combines a data set with a template to produce a series of expansions. I had built a similar tool in VMS DCL in the 1990s. I have since learned that this kind of tool is called a template engine or template processor.
Right now, what I want to learn in this forum is how to share this tool more effectively. It is a very, very minimal script, but it may be useful to some people nonetheless. I am NOT trying to build up a business or a following. I just want to have fun.
