Is there an availability of a library for connecting an OPC UA server with PowerShell?
Swapnil,
Welcome to the forum.
Do you really expect all people knowing immediately what “OPC UA
” is? You could have used at least the full name instead of the acronym.
Have you tried to search for it? When I google “OPC UA PowerShell” I get some promising hits.
https://www.google.com/search?q=OPC+UA+PowerShell
Regardless of all that … This forum is for scripting questions rather than script requests. We do not write customized and ready to use scripts or solutions on request.
We actually expect you to make an own attempt at the first place to get your task done or to solve your problem. If you have done so already please document here what exactly you have done and show your code. Then we probably might be able to help you step further.
Thanks for the quick revert @Olaf, first thing first, OPC UA is acronym for Open Platform Communications United Architecture, also there was no request made for any ready to made script, it was more of a request if anyone has idea of some available module/library supporting OPC UA with PowerShell.
I will quote myself …
yes, i did search, there are couple of references, the one i could find useful was the trial one, and some of them are no more part of the PowerShell module gallery
OK, but you do not share any of these information with us. So in the worst case we’re doomed to make a lot of effort for you for actually no benefit because you already reviewed the options we might recommend.
And what’s the issue with that? Are you looking for it for private use?
And what’s the issue with that? Don’t they do what you’re looking for? Not all modules will be published in the PowerShell gallery.
Yes, I am actually looking for organization use. Those powershell modules are no more available and cant be downloaded for usage now. I was thinking for an alternate approach of consuming the OPC UA DLLs but honestly I have not worked with DLLs and powershell anytime, not sure if thats a good idea to go for, any thoughts on this?
If this module serves your needs why not paying for the full version? This way you’d even support the further development.
I have no experience at all on consuming data from an OPC UA server with PowerShell. But if that’s the only option you have there’s not much left to think about, don’t you think?
I completely agree. Thanks for the responses @Olaf
