Discription contain regex patterns marked as spam

I attempted to ask a question about regex and textblocks - marked as spam. Are regex expressions not allowed in descriptions? Also the 

 block strips any assignments from the pattern:  Is there a way in post code as is?

The problem is just how some special characters end up getting rendered.

As noted above the posting box:

Paste any Gist URL to insert that Gist’s code (limit 1 per post)

Use your GitHub account to create a Gist with whatever code you want. Then, paste the URL to that Gist in your message.
