Hi there
My first question to the community so hi!
We have quite a few machines in the field that connect to corporate resources via DirectAccess over whatever internet connection. Is there a way to connect to these remote clients using PowerShell? Using just -computername fails if they aren’t on the LAN.
Thanks
Darryl
Not really. Among other things DA runs over IPv6 by default while PS uses WSMAN (HTTP or HTTPS) which run over IPv4
You’ll also need to open the inbound TCP ports 5985/5986 for WSMAN HTTP/HTTPS on the router/firewall(s) of the user’s Internet connection (not his local computer)
Absolutely. It will require some additional configuration, but it is definitely possible. What it entails depends entirely on your current configuration. Feel free to reach out to me directly and I can provide you with more details.
